Chairperson, Annette Billington

Annette Billington - Secretary

Annette joined the Board in April 2009. Annette has lived in the community of Marsfield for 9 years and worked in North Ryde for 21 years. Both her married children also reside in the area.

Having had a mother who benefited from the services of Lane Cove Community Aid in the past, Annette recognises the very important work that NRCA does and is keen to bring to the Board her expertise in Quality Management and to make a positive contribution to the local community.

Annette has worked for AstraZeneca in the Quality Assurance department. With this experience, she hopes to enhance the systems and procedures in place at NRCA to support the team of committed volunteers and staff who care for the impaired and less fortunate of our residents in our local community.

Annette has had several community roles in a volunteer capacity, including being President of the Normanhurst Netball Club, serving on local school committees and umpiring and coaching young netballers.
In her spare time, Annette enjoys spending time with her family, including two grandsons, and friends. Her interests include gardening, theatre, sport and travel.

Vice Chairperson, Pat Perrin

Helen (Pat) Perrin, RN.RGN.DT - Non-Executive Director

Pat has served as Vice Chairperson since election to the NRCA Committee of Management in 2007, having retired after 37 years as Proprietor & Managing Director of St. Joachims Aged Care Facility. With this professional expertise, Pat brings true understanding of the needs of NRCA clients and how to address them.

Pat is a very staunch member of North Ryde Rotary Club, having filled many Board positions with this high achieving service club including twice as President, Treasurer and Community Service Director. Her Rotary service also includes positions of Assistant District Governor 2001/02 and Club Service Advisor 2002/03/. In addition to her NRCA role, Pat is an active Board member of New Horizons Enterprises Ltd (Aged Care, Mental Health & Employment for the Disabled), Company Secretary & Founding Member of North Ryde Community Bank (a franchise of Bendigo Bank) as well as the Parish Council of North Ryde’s Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Pat is married to Steve, and they have two married daughters – both health care professionals.

Mark R Switzer - Treasurer

Mark was similarly appointed to the Board in June 2010, due to his personal values and financial management prowess.  He currently works as a Fund Accountant in the Infrastructure, Private Equity and International Property Finance Team at AMP Capital Investors. A qualified chartered accountant, Mark brings knowledge and skills in financial reporting and management accounting to the Board's skillset. In his spare time, Mark enjoys refereeing club soccer matches, playing soccer, running, body boarding, and camping.

Garry Pearce - Vice Chairperson

With vast experience in the aged care and disability sector, Garry was approached by the Board of Directors as an appointee in June 2010, to expand the Board's strategic capability in preparation for 2011 and beyond. Involved in the local community for many years Garry presently works with New Horizons Enterprises in North Ryde, is married and a keen Bridge player.

Public Officer, Jim Hull

James Hull - OA-Public Officer

Jim has faithfully served as a Board member since 2002 in a variety of capacities, and was affirmed the organisation's Public Officer in September 2009.  Having been involved with NRCA from its earliest days, Jim's enthusiasm and commitment to serve his community is obvious.  In our opinion, only his grandchildren receive more time and attention than his volunteering with NRCA

Julie Stone - Non-Executive Director

Julie is a member of the Australian Association of Social
Workers and a Fellow of the Australian College of social
Workers (Clinical and Mental Health) with over forty years
experience in a wide range of therapies and counselling.
Dedicated to serving the Ryde Community, her strong personal links to the area and her work at Macquarie Clinic make her a valuable addition to the Board’s combined skill

Sean Shepherd - Chairperson

Sean’s role at Lend Lease as Executive General Manager
Operational Support and Head of HR, having first joined
our Board whilst serving as National HR Manager with
Baulderstone in North Ryde, brings a wealth of professional
and personal attributes to the talent presently guiding NRCA.
